45 Mins Easy

LOAD: 14

45 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

The only real mistake you can make here is going too fast. Try and pick a flat route as well. Hills will push that RPE too high.

Firstly coach thanks for your upbeat comments re age grading on Weekly Feedback. I’ll keep it going using Good Run Guide calculator as it will give me a way to check my performance across various distances. Today a 3/4 hour run was scheduled but after waking up late and needing to be back in time for breakfast I abandoned Andy and his sore foot and headed for the local park. It’s so good over here for runners – seems every public space has a running track – the park had a properly surfaced one lane all around the edge. I managed to fit in 30 mins. Felt v creaky as I’d rushed out without stretching but that eased off after a few circuits. I’m stretching daily and can proudly confirm the leg pain has been negligible since the half. :o)

You’re welcome about the comments and I think it’s important to have that reflection. I’m working with about 50 runners now and you’re up there in the top 3 in terms of age grading and I’ve got some superb runners on the team. So never use pace or race times as a comparison, it should always be age grading. Same for Andy too. I’m sure his %s are equally impressive. Well done for getting out today, sounds amazing with the running tracks and lots of people out. It really feels like our sport is booming right now and it’s great to see. Also brilliant news about the legs feeling better too. Let’s hope they continue to improve. Well done Sarah.
