60 Mins

LOAD: 18

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Keep that RPE down. You want to be able to run and chat, speaking of which, joining a group can add to the enjoyment here.

🤬 Way off pace today

PACE

I needed extra recovery time for sure this week. I’ve just been feeling so tired. Today was my attempt at running and I struggled the whole way. Back was aching and I just felt sick. But I wanted to get something done. I didn’t manage an hour but too be honest I was only planning on doing 5k anyways. I’ve decided I’m gonna do Beckley but I’m gonna run with some of the bimblers and just plod along rather than race it. I think I’m gonna need some time to build up the speed again!

Well done Kelly. Glad you were able to get out. The most important thing for you going forward is to remove all pressure from yourself. I’m taking the opportunity to put my foot down and say if I hear any feedback like disappointment or upset at my time or pace, I’m going to be angry. You’ve said it yourself there, it’s going to take time, let it take time. There’s not many races right now, you don’t need to be running well, you just need to be running. I’m out and the moment cos I was a twat and ran 6 times in 9 days shortly after my marathon. Now I’ve not run in 2 weeks, possibly going to extend to 3 even 4. But you know what, I don’t mind dropping back a bit. I’ve worked really hard for a long time to hit my times, a backward step will take away any pressure or judgement on myself. So like you, I won’t be chasing times, I’ll still work hard, but my main goal is to get fit again for Brighton marathon in April. Anything between now and then really doesn’t matter. We can’t be at our best all the time. I mentioned that as I just want you adopt that similar approach.
