60 Mins Easy to Marathon Pace

LOAD: 20

20 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
20 Mins @ Steady Pace (RPE: 3)
20 Mins @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 4)

Rather than just head out and do 60 mins easy, this goes through the gears a little and will hopefully help you improve running economy as the speed picks up a little. It’s still a light session but makes the easy runs more interesting. Best done on the flat to hit consistent paces.

A little bit of variation here. Nothing too strenuous with Saturday in mind. But nice to push the pace a little for a few miles.

What a great run that Was good company good weather and good shoes under foot. Felt comfortable throughout to be honest and looking at the splits it was a perfect progression. I added a cool down (just under a mile) just to flush the legs out a bit not that they was feeling it thou. All in all a good run.

Really glad you enjoyed this. I think it’s a quality session which just offers that bit of variety. It should feel comfortable but equally hopefully at the MP you feel you’re moving better and have to focus that little bit more of form to stay efficient and keep the heart rate down. Perfect session a few days out from the relays.
