7 x 1 Mile On/Off

LOAD: 44

1 Mile @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
1 Mile @ Marathon Pace
(RPE: 5-7)
x 7

Good to get some more marathon paced miles in the bank without overdoing it. Be sure to drop the pace on the OFF miles. This should feel fairly comfortable. It’s all about maintaining what you’ve got ahead of Milton Keynes.

This was hugely important to me, needed it to go right. Put on my marathon gear including a hat! Suncreamed up! Took extra electrolytes before hand and went out in the heat at 18 degrees. Honestly the first 11 miles flew by. I got slightly carried away on mile 12 but reigned it back! Next week I’ll be starting with the 3:15 pacer. I’ll stick with him until at least 18 miles. This should feel relatively easy until at least 15! But planning and prep to me and getting this right.

I can’t believe so many ran London without a cap. You’re selfie shows that 70% of your face is shaded with the cap and some of your shoulders, that’s huge. Quality session this and I can’t tell you how pleased I am to hear that approach to MK. I think sticking with the 3:15 pace is definitely a great strategy and even if you get to Mile 18 and just stick with them, I think that would be an excellent result. Yesterday further emphasised that almost no-one, even the elites like Nick Bester and Rhys Boorman run consistent or negative splits in a marathon. I think if you stick with the 3:15 you could do that. Great session Jack.
