Half/Marathon 6 Mile Tempo

LOAD: 33

1 Mile WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

3 Miles @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 5)
3 Miles @ Half Marathon Pace (RPE: 6)

1 Mile CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A good session to mix up paces. WU & CD very important to slowly build the pace.

I did this sessions myself Friday morning, one of my favourites because you just need to think about form to hit the paces, especially half marathon pace and the last few km should feel strong. If you dip under your splits a little, then even better, but you don’t want to pushing too much.

PACE

I actually enjoyed this session. I missed the pace on the first HM section but started way too far back in the parkrun back so couldn’t get space until we went passed Azur. Legs definitely felt quite heavy from the race and a&C but I was pleased that it felt nice and relaxed. Still icing the the glut after runs.

It’s one of my favourites, because the pace feels controlled, you can run with good form, but equally towards the end you can notice that effort creeping up. It’s always hard to time it right with parkrun, so I wouldn’t worry about that first km being a little off. Excellent job Alice!!
