parkrun

LOAD: 250

15 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

parkrun @ 5km Pace (RPE: 8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

Fingers crossed the quicker runners head elsewhere this weekend. Good luck. P1 would be awesome.

Nice little Parkrun with a friendly bunch of volunteers. Got a bit nervous as there were some fast runners there but ran the first nearly 2 laps with 2 others who went out too hard and fell back. I still had a fair amount left so I picked it up and pushed for the last lap to make sure I wasn’t caught up. 1st place was nice but did feel a little anticlimactic. Still nice to get a P1. The left knee is still bothering me, not pain just discomfort still.

Congratulations Paul. It’s weird sometimes in that we build up things in our head, but when they actually happen, the emotion just isn’t there. I’ve found that a few times with my PBs. Sometimes it’s later on when a good tune pops up on the radio that in then sinks in. Sounds like a fun morning and nice that you had some company for those first two laps. Obviously the knee is a little concern, so keep an eye on that. Hopefully it’s a niggle which will pass.
