5 x 1km

LOAD: 260

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

1km @ 5k Pace (RPE: 8)
2 minutes recovery

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Classic session. Super simple. The end result being you have a better understanding of your current time for a 5K. Work hard and ideally finish each rep a few seconds quicker than your current 5k pace.

See how close to that magic 4 minute mark you can get, especially with the reps downwind.

PACE

An enjoyable test of leg speed ahead of forthcoming races Managed to hit 4 min/km whuch is encouraging as I still feel I have a way to go to full fitness Even got my 400m sprint in, pleased with 1 min 20 although I reckon if I did it in a group with Paul, Sam, Jack etc. I could potentially beat that!

That’s great pace and always a nice target. To be honest I’ve found in the past my 5km pace is almost the same as I hit in these sessions so it shows a low 20 min 5k isn’t that far off.
