70 Mins Marathon Pace

LOAD: 350

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

70 Mins @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 5)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A decent session in any marathon training block. Unless you’re Kipchoge, this should feel comfortable as you won’t be covering a huge distance.

If time is limited then perhaps just do the marathon pace. Obviously that’s not idea but if you’re on the downhill to begin with it’s kind of like a warm up right?

Cuckoo Trail: did a 5min/1km warmup and cooldown (distance from BMW centre to trail, so made sense) then did an out-and-back 15km at marathon pace. It was warm but breezy, felt tough in places but not too hard work. No niggles which was nice, chest not quite right so I was breathing hard. For the 15km I averaged just under my target marathon pace of 4:39min/km which was cool.

Decent mileage in that time. I do like training at marathon pace as it feels comfortable but also like you’re running with good form. Might sneak over there myself Sunday morning to avoid the wind. Great running Sam. Hope the BMW is ok?
