60 Min Easy Run

LOAD: 150

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

Keep the effort level to around 3 or 4 on the RPE scale. Focus on good form and don’t get lazy. Often the best run of the week 😁

Nice easy start to the plan. Keep that pace around the 5:00 per km. I have a shoe rotation which helps slow me down. I wear my speed shoes for the sessions and my easy run shoes here. I can really notice the difference and I look forward to wearing my quicker shoes. Happy to chat about shoes if need be.

Still felt my legs a bit from yesterday’s 21k, but actually felt stronger as I got into it. I sometimes struggle to moderate speed as the park where I run does have an incline in places. I also forgot to do the strides but will incorporate them on Thursday if that works

Takes me 5k to warm up some days 😂 The downside of hitting mid 40s, but good to hear you felt stronger as it went on. For me, as long as I keep the effort down I don’t focus too much on pace on these runs, so up the hills if the pace drops significantly, as long as the RPE is under control it doesn’t matter. But solid start. Well done Ben.
