200 Metres @ Target Times (RPE: 9)

A real opportunity to work on both speed and good running economy. Train faster to race faster.

Kick starting this plan with a nice easy speed session. It’s good to ease back into the speed work.

What a fun way to start a plan! I felt god and I think I smashed the rep times? That was a good confidence boost! Again, I wonder if I could have pushed these reps a bit more!

Really glad you enjoyed these. I think it’s good to finish a session feeling strong but also asking that question. Ultimately we want to be consistent with our training and if we push too hard then the risk of injury does increase. The pace you ran at was 21:15 5K pace. I know it’s only 200 metres at a time but it just shows the speed is there. Plus we wanted to ease you back into this new plan a little, so soon after the half so I’m very happy with this. Great job Kirsty.
