90 Min Long Run

LOAD: 240

90 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Keep this nice and easy. Focus on good form & efficient running economy.

Pier to Pier 7 miler. I just put a rough estimate in terms of the session. So please don’t feel this needs to be 90 mins. Enjoy. It sounds like a really good event and nice to do the occasional race without any time pressure involved.

PACE

Really enjoyed this, I’ve ran it a few times now and it’s a great run and it means I know what to expect. Took it slow at the start as the first mile is across the beach and up hill onto the cliff paths. I find it really hard work running on sand and then the uphill is quite hard. Once I was on the cliff top I settled nicely and my second half of my race was faster than the first. I felt really strong at the end coming into the finish even though the last 0.4 of a mile is back on the beach. I think starting at the back of the pack helped me, I was one of the last people off the beach but once I was on the cliff paths I was able to pick past people. Pleased with my time and overall pace and I felt really good!

Love this feedback. Great job Sarah. Sounds like you paced this really well and it’s actually something to remember for future races. Because if you get that pace right early on, and hold back, you’ll always finish strongly and overtake lots of runners, and that’s an amazing feeling right? There might be the odd occasion you finish thinking you left a bit out there, but that’s a lot better than dying with 25% of a race to go. Awesome work!!
