There’s no need to hit the gym. You can achieve a lot at home. Keep it consistent and let me know once any exercises feel too easy.

Hopefully that little setback with the glute is improving again. Keep up the consistency with these.

I made it into the gym for some decent strength stuff. Im really enjoying my current strength plan and as I said I’m feeling the benefits when I run. It’s a little frustrating to hear ‘we just have to accept that we have pain sometimes as runners.’ This approach is a big part of what’s caused me to be in such a bad way now. Alicia has said that I have so much tension in the glute due to continuing to run on an niggle. I’ve got a pretty high pain threshold. I gave birth with very little pain relief. I’m not someone who complains about things just for the sake of it. I have a good awareness of my body and I wish that what was going on was just running niggles. I also crossed the line at Hastings half in 2017 in tears because my hips hurt so much….this isn’t the same as that was. A lot of it probably stems from long labour, prolapse and pelvic issues. I’m trying to get referred by my doctor for an MRI as it’s been so long now with very little improvement.

Thank you. I appreciate you being honest and every right to respond in that way. Probably a very naive comment on my part for which I apologize. It certainly wasn’t personal. It’s a really tough one as a coach to know what to advise as I several runners with on-going issues, some of them undiagnosed. Jax is not running at the moment and on a daily basis keeps asking me what she should do, and to be honest, I can’t answer that. It’s made worse because I do care so much about all you on the team and it’s weighs heavily on me when you’re injured or running with discomfort. I definitely think it’s important to keep searching for solutions and I feel like you are making some gains. My role is there to try and help you maintain your fitness whilst that search continues and I will strive to continue to do that, all the time you keep faith with me (hopefully that comment hasn’t effected things). At some stage with the feedback I give, I may say the wrong thing, which was clearly the case here, and will take that on board and learn from it, hence why your reply was really helpful for me. You are doing great given the circumstances and I hope there is a time you can run pain free and find a solution for these issues 🧡🖤
