Hastings 5 Miler

LOAD: 380

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

5 Miles @ 5 Mile Pace (RPE: 5-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

5 miles is a really tough distance to get right. Rest assured, this is tough. The first mile is so important, don’t go off too quick and you’ll set yourself up for a strong race.

The best advice I can probably give here, is follow Mark. He might be a fraction quicker than you at the moment, but what he is likely to do is pace it really well. So if you just keep him in your sights then you don’t have to worry too much about your own pace. I think you’re starting to run well again now, which is great to see and I have a feeling this is going to be a really good race for you. As always, bring happiness and joy to the others and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you’re out their smiling and making others happy that’s priceless. Very best of luck Lou.

48:13 today according to Strava which is 7 seconds faster than the target you set me 💪🏻 When I did the Hastings 5 Mile race in 2019 I did it in 48:57 so a PB to top it off. I really enjoyed this today and I put good effort in. Always race is always a challenge but I’m proud 😊

Every reason to be proud of yourself. Conditions were tough, so to beat your target and run a PB is fantastic. Awesome running Lou. Really pleased for you.
