parkrun

LOAD: 250

15 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

parkrun @ 5km Pace (RPE: 8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

This feels like the perfect time to go for a quick parkrun. Confidence is growing. It will still be tough. 5ks always are. Perhaps you could ask Andy to pace you as he’s got an easy parkrun in his plan. Very best of luck if you go for a quick one. Excited to see what you can do.

Ran a 5k at effort on the docks in Liverpool as I wasn’t able to get to a parkrun. Had a slow jog down and slow jog back. I felt like I was going really fast so was slightly disappointed it was only marginally faster than a parkrun I did a couple of weeks ago. But it was probably still a decent effort after a late night and lots of cocktails. Also getting up and going for a run on my own whilst on a hen do is a win haha!

I’m impressed that you are committed to the cause and got this done despite the weekend schedule. Any progress is good. What I would say is running a quick time solo, as compared to being in a pack and with other runners, is so much harder. Add in the slightly less than ideal preparation and I think the fact you were quicker than the parkrun a few weeks ago is a really positive sign. So well done Sarah. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🍸
