One of the ways you can become a faster running is to increase your Cadence. This is the number of steps you take in a minute. The general advice is that a cadence of 180 is ideal but that will vary from one runner to the next as we are different shapes and sizes.
The key is to be aware of what you current cadence is. Once you are armoured with this information you can look to improve it.
The easiest way to improve your cadence is to do some training runs with a metronome. This beeps a set number of times per minute and you can simply make sure your feet strike the ground in time with the metronome.
Give it a try. You might just be surprised at the difference it makes to your running.
