Oliver Curd Trust 10K

LOAD: 15

5 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

8km @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3-5)

A fun run and best treated as that. The route is mixed with some uneven trails so probably one to best treat as an easy run. A short WU beforehand will give you the same benefits as a 60 min easy run.

I would recommend treating this as an easy – steady run and just enjoying the event for what it’s main purpose is.

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

I know I know this should have been an easy run and I did not treat it as such 🙈 2 reasons in my mind, firstly after a week of feeling rubbish and finding it so hard doing nothing I felt in my head I had to put some effort in to a run this week, secondly I honestly hadn’t realised how much of this run would have been like singly file, I can’t tell you how much pressure and worry I felt about holding anyone up, I pushed a lot feeling worried someone might be behind me wanting to go past, unsure if this was in my head but I certainly felt it in my head which made me push on. Over all really happy with the run and my time 😊

Well done Michelle. Given we missed Tuesday I’m actually happy you were able to put in some extra effort, as it will help the training. So long as it didn’t have any lasting effect on your niggle, that’s the main concern. I know it’s hard, and it’s because it comes from a good place, but ultimately you should try and just focus on your own run. If anyone was behind and really desperate to get through they would just ask politely. I’m of a similar mindset and last year when I wore road shoes at Bewl when it was a mudfest I probably spent 10 mins of my run standing aside so other runners could pass. But overall, glad you enjoyed it and that will have helped the fitness which is another positive to take.
