60 Min Easy & Strides

LOAD: 20

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)
60 Second Recoveries

Keep the effort level to around 3 or 4 on the RPE scale. Focus on good form and don’t get lazy. Often the best run of the week 😁 Do those Strides (or else)

No evening HR run so could move this a day if it works better.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

I really wasn’t feeling it, legs still pretty sore from S&C & Off-Road the previous evening, think I’m probably still recovering from the ultra, but boy that S&C session really took it out of me – felt OK at the time and immediately after, but so stiff and tight and sore, even now (Thurs). Hot and I may have been a little quick, was toasted and sore by the time I almost got home so called it a day. No strides, too sore on my poor legs. And fecking hot. Don’t hit me.

πŸ˜‚ It’s a tough one to get right and until you get out there you’re not going to know the impact the ultra has had. I think in these next few weeks with your busy weekends, it’s just a case of running when you can and to feel. You’ve achieved so much already this year that one step backwards at this stage isn’t going to have much impact long term. Now where’s my slipper.
