Hastings Runners Handicap 5K

LOAD: 30

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
8 x 100 Metres Strides (RPE: 8)

5km @ 5k Pace (RPE: 7-9)

2km CD @ East Pace (RPE: 3)

So important to know your 5k pace and stick to that at the start. The temptation is to go off too fast and try to catch people up quickly, don’t. Keep it consistent, trust your pacing and then in that final km you’ll start to catch those that have made that mistake.

No pressure here, just give it your best shot. Someone always produces a ridiculous time, so it’s very unlikely someone on the Team will win (albeit Mark did last year). So that means we can just all go out and enjoy ourselves without worrying about the outcome.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

3rd race in 5 days so not unhappy with a 27:31 (accidentally started my watch again instead of saving it) Legs are feeling quite tired now. Wasn’t my favourite race but it was nice to see people

PB!!! That makes a different right? You were a tad unlucky as that fast 5k you did in training had an impact on your handicap, but still, I seem to recall it wasn’t that long ago 30 mins was your 5k time, now you are consistently well under that. Excellent work Jodie.
