Ah man! I read your feedback from Friday, then obviously ignored it all 😩 got carried away with the elevation, completely burnt out & had to walk all the hills in the 2nd half! Lesson learnt the hard way today

πŸ˜‚ I think whatever race you are doing, pacing yourself is crucial. One thing sticks in my head with ultras is watching Film My Run do a 100 mile race. He’d recently run a sub 3 marathon which is 42 mins for 10k. He did his first 10k in his 100 mile race in 1 hour and 17 mins. And that was his target. That then suddenly made me realise how doing longer distances were possible. So definitely something to bear in mind, don’t be afraid to go off slow.
