50 Mins

LOAD: 15

50 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

It’s important to keep the easy runs easy. Focus on good running form and low heart rate.

Run club + a little extra.

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

Did a trial session with a new run club last night, they are a proper run club as in EA registered and do more ‘proper training’ eg handicap races/relays etc whereas Full Circle on a Thursday is more just a social run. On a Monday this new run club does a steady run and they have 5k, 8k and 12k options at different paces. Last night I just did the 5k and ran home to do a little bit extra. They did throw a few strides in though towards the end of the run which was good! I think for the next few weeks I might alternate between Monday run club and Thursday run club depending on how long my easy run is and how I’m feeling after Sunday long runs.

So pleased you enjoyed it. I would highly recommend joining a running club like this. Often there’s not much difference, but as you say it provides you with another opportunity to run with different people and perhaps learn some stuff along the way. The running community is most definitely the best thing about this hobby. At different times in my running I’ve done sessions with 4 or 5 different local clubs, depending what best suits my schedule. And they’ve always been very welcoming. I only did 1 session with a club called HY, but all the people I met that day still say hello to me every time I see them.
