60 Mins Easy-MP

LOAD: 24

20 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
20 Mins @ Steady Pace (RPE: 3)
20 Mins @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 4)

Rather than just head out and do 60 mins easy, this goes through the gears a little and will hopefully help you improve running economy as the speed picks up a little. It’s still a light session but makes the easy runs more interesting. Best done on the flat to hit consistent paces.

Keeping the time the same but just picking up the pace slightly.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Swapped Mon & Wed session around so I could join the HR run on Wednesday. Calf held up well as no pain. The MP felt fast and hard (not surprising as I haven’t done any track/fast sessions in a few weeks). I’m still not sure about doing the HR 10k next week, would be good to test it out but also aware that I need to have volunteered to be able to go into the London Marathon HR ballot…. so it’s really only this one or the Hastings – Rye and feel I’d need a final long run (after 2 weeks holiday) if I do HHM!

Well done Rebecca. I always find MP in these session feels tougher than it should. I think that’s purely because it’s hard to adjust pace during a session. But glad it went well and the calf was ok. Given this recent niggle, there’s not a great deal to be gained from racing next week as you’ll probably be easing off the effort a bit, so perhaps taking this opportunity to marshal would be a sensible move.
