Barry Richards 10K

LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
4-8 Strides x 100 Metres (RPE: 8)

10K @ 10K Pace (RPE: 7)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

An excellent opportunity to run a fast 10K. As with any 10k, be sure not to go off too fast, lots of the other runners will be, so settle into your target pace early on and then really dig deep after the turnaround.

All I would say is approach this in a relaxed manner. Give it a good effort, but the 10k PB is banked this year, of course if would be amazing if you beat it again, but it’s a race you can enjoy, rather than kill yourself for a few seconds. Very best of luck.

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Just went with how I felt thought I would for once listen and start of slower and pick the pace up at the end. Which really helped obviously couldn’t go much quicker with that wind against us on way out! I was inbetween nightshifts so only on about 4 hours sleep and it was 7th day of running (sorry I ran Friday and Saturday last week even though I did keep them easy and they were only 5ks) ran most of it with Rob which helped keep me going. Actually enjoyed it and pleased with 3rd lady and 9 secs off PB time with how I felt before

Yeah keep an eye on those consecutive days of running. They can creep up. Only takes one injury to stop you in your tracks and you’re going great guns right now. To get so close to your PB with that wind is an excellent effort and really pleased you enjoyed it too. I know I couldn’t function off 4 hours sleep so I’m impressed. Well done Lindsey.
