Barry Richards 10K

LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
4-8 Strides x 100 Metres (RPE: 8)

10K @ 10K Pace (RPE: 7)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

An excellent opportunity to run a fast 10K. As with any 10k, be sure not to go off too fast, lots of the other runners will be, so settle into your target pace early on and then really dig deep after the turnaround.

Based on your recent 5k times, my race predictor is telling me 45 minutes would be a good result here. Michael Norris is running and you were a similar pace in the session in the park. So I’d like you to try and stick with Michael in this race, just follow him and then if you feel strong at the end, kick on. But try and avoid going off too fast at the start. That’s why sticking with Michael will help. Good luck Patrick!

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Despite the wind I felt I did quite well running this race

It’s good to lay down a marker so we can see the improvements you make as the plan goes on. The wind does make it tough and you were a little unlucky that Michael Norris never showed up (he was ill). But a lot to be pleased about and hopefully this time next year you’ll be running this race 5 minutes quicker.
