40 Min Easy

LOAD: 12

40 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

The biggest mistake we can make with these recovery runs is running too fast. This will mean when our harder sessions come round we are still fatigued and not able to put enough effort in to make the necessary gains.

Happy if you wanted to join Steve’s group here.

Can’t stand the heat! Yesterday was cooler and I felt so much more energetic; today is warmer again and it lowers my blood pressure and makes me tired. (Dr Google backs this up!) Anyway, I joined Steve’s run for 40 mins then was tempted by the sparkling water at Rock-a-Nore so went for a dip. I shall have to reconsider the Amble depending on the forecast – it won’t do me any good if it’s going to be hot. I’ll check with coach re options.

Yeah the heat can be a real issue for running. Glad you were able to join if with Steve. Looks like The Amble might not be too bad as the forecast suggests we will get cloud for at least half of the run and a moderate head wind is likely to cool us down. I think that will be a blessing in disguise on this occasion. Had it been 20 degrees with the wind behind it would have been very hot. But happy to discuss if you are still unsure. Well done Sarah.
