120 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Long runs are a crucial part of any plan. You’ll need to do these to improve. Again running with a group can really help. Be sure to hydrate and fuel.

Keep it easy!! Enjoy.

Confessions first….I did not complete S & C yesterday coach! sorry :o( I was on a mission to get a large DIY project under weigh so did a brisk walk to Dunelm and yomped back with 5 litre tin in backpack, quite an effort! After a short rest I was up the ladder painting walls – just FORGOT about S & C! So bad. I had a lot of energy so what with the yomp and the cleaning, painting, etc, I reckon I worked pretty hard. Onto today – my body thermostat has gone haywire and I reckon it’s ever since I got heatstroke on the North Downs 30k a couple of years ago. So today felt HOT again and my energy vanished. It was a plod and a slog to get my 2 hour run finished. I enjoyed the last half hour a bit more than the rest and it was not as bad as Henfield. I did it and I know I’m lucky to still be able to do what I do but it was an effort. And I’m so glad I did not attempt the Amble! Hope it all went well for you and the other HRs.

Sounds like you did a good S&C workout with all the DIY to be fair. Sorry to hear things feel difficult at the moment but I feel like you have a good awareness of your energy levels, that we can always tweak things if need be. And it’s good to have that gratitude in terms of still being able to stay fit and run for this length of time. The Amble was great thank you and I was so pleased those who did it for the first time on my recommendation had a lovely time too. Up on those downs almost feels heavenly and I must get out there more often.
