The Amble

LOAD: 74

Up to 40km @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Love this. Around 40km from Ditchling Beacon to Hampden Park on the South Downs Way. Well signposted. Depending on where you’re at with your training this is most likely to be a walk/run, especially up some of the hills. If you do struggle just hop on the bus for a leg.

Buzzing for this. I did a video last year if you’ve not seen it (https://youtu.be/Ew-xj0A8dfc). I don’t think we really need to plan ahead here. Just go with the flow, see how you get on. If you need to sit out a leg, then take option. What we don’t want to do is overdo it and get injured. Just because others are running/walking the whole way it doesn’t mean you need to. It’s all about what’s best for you and your training going forward.

A beautiful day on a beautiful route. Loved every minute, except my fall but I was determined if I could I would and I did. All 26 miles 😊 Walked where I needed and even had a little pit stop when we saw a shack selling ice cream – salted caramel πŸ˜‹ I gave this my best on the day and am just thrilled to have complying. No point me looking at pace and speed tbh as it was there in places but not for long before another hill arrived. But I stayed on my feet πŸ‘£ until the end and just loved the views and company on this.

It’s brilliant isn’t it. I love the Amble. Really well done for picking yourself up and getting the whole distance does. That shows your character and you should be proud of that. Not many on the team who are as determined and focused as you. Really well done Michelle. It makes me so happy to hear how much yourself and the team enjoyed this run.
