The Amble

LOAD: 74

Up to 40km @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Love this. Around 40km from Ditchling Beacon to Hampden Park on the South Downs Way. Well signposted. Depending on where you’re at with your training this is most likely to be a walk/run, especially up some of the hills. If you do struggle just hop on the bus for a leg.

I’ve allowed for you doing the whole route, so fingers crossed it goes all. Just be smart and walk the hills. To be honest given how steep the hills are, there’s no benefit running them. Should be a great day though with more getting involved including some of the Ultra gang.

ENJOYMENT

🤬 Way off pace today

PACE

I’m really pleased with myself that I did the whole thing. Particularly when Nick bailed out coz all the others kinda ran off and so I ended up staying with Steve. I realise when I’m focusing on someone else I’m not thinking about how badly it’s going for me! First Nick was struggling and then Steve was so I was more concerned about how they were doing than myself! I think I could’ve run a bit more but there were times that they both needed to walk and so I didn’t want to leave anyone on their own. I so could have bailed out though. My stomach was playing up, I ate so many antacids and not enough fuel. Definitely not enough but I’m really really pleased I did the whole thing.

Love this feedback and ignore the pace. You were several hours ahead of some of the others. You should be so pleased with yourself and you were helping others along the way. A marathon over the South Downs Way is a bloody long way. Forget other runners for a minute. How many people can actually do that? You can!! Awesome work Kelly!!
