60 Mins & Strides

LOAD: 22

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)
60 Second Recoveries

Best done in a group!! Keep the RPE down, so you should be able to chat. Don’t forget those strides. They are very important. Enjoy.

Again Tuesday an option as HR won’t have a Horntye run. Of course if you are doing the Elaine Williams Run then use that for this session.

Really enjoyed this. The first bit was a bit faster than I usually do an easy run but I chatted the whole way so does give me a bit of a boost to remember I’m fitter than I think. Really loved the Elaine Williams run. Such a good team spirit and proud of my mum for not giving up. She was determined to run the whole thing which she did in just over 43 mins. I’ve kept reminding her the whole time that it doesn’t matter how fast you go you just have to keep at it. You’ve still travelled the same distance. I did forget strides in all the chatting at the end. Lindsey text me when we got home just saying ‘strides!!’ I got some nasty bug bites as punishment for standing around at the end though!!

Well done Alice. To be fair you probably clocked more than 60 mins of running right so that can compensate for the missed Strides, but they are important. So nice to see your mum doing the Walk to Run and I think it gave Megan some inspiration to realise she can achieve it to if she sticks with it. Perhaps something you can mention to your mum, because she’s possible inspiring others with what she’s achieved now. And you’re right. Time is irrelevant in that situation. We did see her produce a strong finish from afar.
