The biggest mistake we can make with these recovery runs is running too fast. This will mean when our harder sessions come round we are still fatigued and not able to put enough effort in to make the necessary gains.

Ran with my Monday run club, I did the 5 mile route with the slowest pace group. Felt really comfortable all the way around. Ended up being 60 mins rather than 40 mins but we had a few little stops on the way round for everyone to regroup etc. Really enjoyed it!

So pleased to hear this and it’s nice when you run in a group where you feel strong. I think sometimes we can be guilty of comparing ourselves with others who are faster than us and that can get us down. When in reality anyone that runs is fitter than 90-95% of the general population.
