Plan 1 – Week 9

Hi Simon all good thanks, My right calf has been Β a bit of a worry but since checking in with others and reading up about it, It seems a common problem. Icing it has been a massive help. Really enjoying Team Orange and being a member of HR. Enjoy running with others as it really seems to motivate you more and being able to chat just makes the whole thing more enjoyable. Not always poss though with work and kids. Thanks for all the work you do πŸ‘

ps My Strava said I did over a 2 hour bike ride sat. Went out and must off somehow activated it as deff did not go out on my bike πŸ˜‚

just a tight calf which usually comes about the day after running. Then seems to create tightness around the knee. Have been icing it and even a bath seemed to really help. Have brought a roller as well. Running is fine.

Thanks Dan, really appreciate your kind words. It’s nice to know that you’ve met some new people as well. That’s the best thing I’ve found with running, the support and the community. Sometimes a solo run can help. I think some discomfort is normal and I wouldn’t panic too much. To be honest, I was a mess yesterday after my long run Saturday but have come to know it will pass. But it’s still good to monitor it just so it doesn’t get any worse. You’re doing really well right now and that makes me super happy. Keep up that consistency and you will continue to see improvements in your running. One thing I would recommend on Strava is when doing your intervals and strides, save them all as one session, rather than saving each one individually. So your watch should just have a start and stop button and then you can just resume it when you do your next rep. It’s easier from my point of view then to see the overall pace of your session.
