Plan 5 – Week 6

  • 18th August 2025

Just the two easy runs this week, had a gig on Thursday so didn’t have the time (and didn’t want to exhaust myself before playing) then was in the office all day Friday, got home after 7pm, Laura cooked dinner then all I could manage was the sofa and a TV show before bed.

Not a great week, still feeling a bit rough, can’t shake this chesty cough. Left my gig early as felt run down and ill… yuck.

No injury issues

COACH

Keep ticking over. As I’ve said numerous times, whatever happens for the rest of 2025 it’s been a bloody brilliant year. Question. Is there a busier time of year for you in terms of gigging? I’m assuming it’s the summer months like now when you might be at a few festivals etc. The reason I ask, is if, and I hope you do, we continue to work together, it might be worth looking at 2026 as a whole. So my initial thinking would be something like 2 x 16 week training blocks were you push hard and try and peak for goal race. But then a couple of 2 x 8 week training sections, almost like this current window where we ease back and go into maintenance mode. Then you get 4 weeks off in there as well. It might not work as smoothly as that, but that’s my thinking.
