50 Mins Tempo (HM)

LOAD: 36

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

50 Mins @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-6)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

Practicing goal pace is a key part of any training plan. The more miles you can get done at goal pace the more comfortable it will feel on race day.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

That was tough, but I enjoyed that! There was a lot of elevation to start, some more at the end, and the brief bit of flat along Bexhill Road still had the headwind, so wasn’t surprised to not see HM pace hit regularly 😆 However, I was very happy with the pace overall, and averaged 4:48 across the 50 mins! The last 10 mins or so were very hard and probably pushed a fair bit over HM effort to keep the pace from dropping too far.

Really pleased you had that awareness not to worry about missing the target pace due to conditions and route. I think having that sense of how hard we are working is such a powerful piece of knowledge to have in both training and race days. So these type of sessions will really help in that sense too. Excellent work Jamie.
