90 Mins

LOAD: 27

90 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Keep this nice and easy. Focus on good form & efficient running economy. RPE should be around the 3/10 which means you can run and chat.

The first half an hour was nice and leisurely, did a route from horntye through the park and back with Stacey which was nice to catch-up. The. Joined the Horntye group who were pretty fast or I’m really out of practice! My legs were really showing the effects of yesterday’s gym session and I struggled greatly up the hills. So many times I was thinking I’ll turn back here because it was going quick and people weren’t really looping back which made it much tougher. But I preservered, stopped thinking about trying to catch up and thought well they’ll have to wait for me anyways even if they aren’t coming back. I was flying on the downs and flats was just the hills that I was really struggling with. Last night I slept terribly, my stomach was killing all I could eat was milkshake. And my legs!!! I’m definitely doing some yoga and stretches today – my body clearly needs it!

Really well done for getting the 90 mins in. I don’t know what’s going on with the lack of looping back, seems to be happening a lot, perhaps someone needs to remind the club about etiquette. It does annoy me, as you witnessed Sunday 😂 But you had the right attitude, fuck em. Focus on your own running, if anything I would have slowed down, make em wait. Like when you’ve got someone tailgating you on the road, slow down. Hope your stomach feels better soon though and glad Stacey joined you for the extra, the training group idea working already which is nice to see.
