Rye Ancient Trails 30K

LOAD: 85

5 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

30K @ Target Pace (RPE: 4-8)

Such a fantastic event on some beautiful trails. Your pace will be determined by your goals and whether you are racing or treating it as an easy run. Training pts will also vary depending on your pace goals. Good luck.

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Aw thanks for comments via Strava Simon! That Andy is indeed a good one. Well I reckon I worked super hard today. Taking into account the fact I paused my watch for the 13 min wait at the stile, I did around 4:17 which was a lot quicker than last year. I set off with the idea of pushing myself a bit instead of just doing my usual comfortable pace. I was breathing heavily throughout and wondered if I’d crash but I kept going and felt pretty fresh at the end. So I’m pleased with how it went.

That’s amazing Sarah. To improve on last year is excellent as you were running well then too and I thought conditions were a little bit trickier this time around. That’s not an easy route either, the hills, whilst not too challenging, there’s a lot of them, and it’s definitely a test of both stamina and strength. So the fact you came through with such flying colours is really pleasing. No mention of the legs either which I can only assume were ok?
