Rye to Hastings

LOAD: 65

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

12 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

3 Races in 1. 9km of flat through the nature reserve and tricky Sea Wall. Nothing quicker than half marathon pace through this section. Then comes the climb, take your time and walk where needed. The finish from the top of Barley Lane is great fun, let yourself go and you could be running anywhere between 5-10k pace down the hill.

Well this run completes another great week of training 😊 A perfect day weather wise for Rye to Hastings. Ran the whole thing with Lou which was lovely and we pushed and encouraged each other right to the end. We managed to pull out a very quick last few miles which I think makes up for waking up the big hills πŸ™ˆ but I felt better for doing that further on in the run. Probably to quick in the first 5-6 miles but it paid off 😊 I have run this twice before in 2016 with a time of 2hrs 15 and again in 2017 in a time of 2hrs 9 mins so I’m really pleased with my time today. Shaving about 15 mins off. I know this is absolutely down to my training plan and sessions I have been attending over the months 😊 A great run with beautiful surroundings.

That’s a massive improvement Michelle, awesome running. It’s so nice that you and Lou are able to support each other and run together, as those hills can get lonely, I know from experience. You probably saved time by walking some of the hills as it meant you could finish so strongly, so it’s a good strategy. And what a beautiful day to do this run. So much to be positive and grateful about here 😁
