Rye to Hastings

LOAD: 65

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

12 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

3 Races in 1. 9km of flat through the nature reserve and tricky Sea Wall. Nothing quicker than half marathon pace through this section. Then comes the climb, take your time and walk where needed. The finish from the top of Barley Lane is great fun, let yourself go and you could be running anywhere between 5-10k pace down the hill.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Michelle and I stuck together, she pushed my pace at the start and I pushed hers at the end. We walked up all the hills like you suggested as they are so steep! No niggles although some tricky terrain though. Should have listened to coach and done a proper warm up as took a few miles to get the legs working.

So good to see you two running together and supporting each other. I know from experience those hills can be lonely on your own. I think it’s the climb through fairlight and then up the Alan Corke route that is the toughest so walking those sections is wise and means you could finish strongly too. Really well done Lou.
