10K Race

LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10km @ 10km Pace (RPE: 6-8)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Pacing is everything when it comes to a 10k race. The first half of the race should feel controlled and then you’ll really have to dig deep as the RPE rises. Try and maintain consistent splits throughout. If the route is undulating be sure to do your homework so you know when the hills are coming and how long they will last.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

🙄 Just a fraction slow

PACE

Enjoyed this race. Lovely scenery along the coast. Was quite tough though and a busy race. Massive hill between 3-4km took it out of my legs a bit so wasn’t quite as fast as target But worked hard and enjoyed it. Sarah had a good one too

That combination of working hard and enjoying it always make me really happy as a coach. I’d much rather have that feedback that, I had a PB but I hated every minute. We earn the right to enjoy these races and runs by working hard in training, and that’s more important than what the clock says when we cross the line. Really well done Andy and glad Sarah enjoyed it too.
