parkrun

LOAD: 30

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)

parkrun @ 5km Pace (RPE: 8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

🙄 Just a fraction slow

No idea where it came from or why but just felt overwhelmed today with a lot of self doubt. Felt panicked and couldn’t settle so I decided to ease off and just run it best I could and treat it as a good opportunity to just get out and get some miles in, I pushed where I could but just wasn’t there today. Came home and a little cry and then pulled myself together 🙈 maybe it’s the worry and nerves building and self doubt for next Sunday, not sure. Tomorrows 90 mins easy is a new day 😊 ps I did do my strides through so that’s a bonus 😊

Self doubt is normal and I don’t think it matters how good we get as runners it will naturally still be there, cos at times, running is hard. The important thing to do is not overthink a run like this. You still got out there and got all aspects complete. I think the lesson to learn is when that self doubt does crop up, try and either turn into a positive “I can do this” or “Coach believes in me” (because I do and know how well you’ve done). And then find a mental distraction, so that might be a mantra, or working on your form, just to push those negative thoughts to one side. You’re doing really well, so try not to let the mind get in the way if you can.
