60 Mins Easy-MP

LOAD: 24

20 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
20 Mins @ Steady Pace (RPE: 3)
20 Mins @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 4)

Rather than just head out and do 60 mins easy, this goes through the gears a little and will hopefully help you improve running economy as the speed picks up a little. It’s still a light session but makes the easy runs more interesting. Best done on the flat to hit consistent paces.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

🙄 Just a fraction slow

PACE

Felt better once I got going. Finished the run feeling okay. My daughters 6th birthday today so had around 55 minutes before the pizza was turning up. I ran a road/path/trail route and did 20/20/13. I do enjoy a progression run. With regards to my guide paces at the top of the page, I really like having the guide and I obviously adjust for the conditions and how I feel on the day. I feel for now, they all need slowing around 15/20 seconds. I’d rather run slower and enjoy it than flogging myself and not enjoying it. I need to remember, I don’t chase fitness, fitness WILL come to me.

Well done Daniel. I’ll change up the paces, not a problem at all. You’re right it’s all about consistency rather than pushing our limits everytime we do a session. I always remember reading how an Olympian was always looking to score himself B- for his sessions, and that was good enough for him. I’ll tweak those training paces, but let me know if they are still out of line. Hope the pizza was good.
