Plan 3 – Week 12

  • Oct 6-12

I missed the Tuesday session! Although I did appreciate the rest after the Hastings half.

The Hastings Seafront 10k was really enjoyable . I felt like I put good effort into it yet I was a minute slower than last year. It made me feel a bit glum but it is what it is and I would say that at least I feel like I ran it better if that makes sense. I think I probably should have picked someone to keep up with who was a tiny bit faster than I needed to go, to enable me to pace myself. There’s always next time!

No injury issues

COACH

There’s always a different way of looking at results. One is the disappointment at being a minute slower than last year, the other is to celebrate, that a year on, you’re still running well and enjoying the training. That to me is far more important. You can also use that slight glumness as motivation. It might be that next year you want to run that race as a PB, and that can be your inspiration to keep up the training. It’s always important to remember as well how much harder it is for you with your job. So when you see others like Rebecca getting PBs, don’t compare yourself, because she doesn’t work at all. Obviously she’s still doing amazing and great that she’s making the most of her time to improve her fitness, but it’s more just to say how much harder it is for you than others on the team, who do have a lot more free time. Keep up the great work Lou.
