Plan 2 – Week 27

  • Oct 13-19

I mean, what a race to end a plan on! As I said wanted to just enjoy this as I saw it as a bonus race after last years cancellation. I’m now focused on the next plan. I need to move forward. Please may we chat about how to do this? I think over this plan I’ve learnt I put so much pressure on myself and it’s not at all helpful to you, me, the plan l, development. The last couple of races that I’ve done and thought “meh let’s see” I’ve done ok! I know this is a me issue not a you issue, and I’m working on it!
Today was soggy greatness! And fell in with a lush lady 5k in and she was amazing-had a stupid panic but because she was chatting I focused on her, got my breathing back and got through it.
I hate that I have to do so early-but that’s life, but I do see the benefit of running with others, please don’t think I’m being difficult. Any with Matts marathon training impending, it’s only going to get more tricky.
but TWR does help with easy group miles-often a couple of the girls do more pre or post, and there’s talk of pre or post hill training (about 20/30mins worth) to get us ready for the half.

Simon thank you so much for your constant calm support and encouragement. I do so appreciate it.

COACH

Fantastic and I think it shows the importance of mindset. This is a good quote (tweaked slightly for relevance) “Run like it means nothing, when really it means everything”. Easier said than done, but ultimately that’s how we get the best out of ourselves. As with anything in life reaching that takes practice. Took me 6 marathons to finally get a goodnights sleep beforehand. I’ll drop you a message during the week to discuss what next. Delighted that you want to stay on the team. No worries about running twice this week, that’s fine. Excellent running Kirsty.
