As you saw on my Strava, set off too fast. Not intentional – it’s just cos I start at the front and it was a smallish race. Also, I don’t really trust my Garmin in the first km. Quickly realised I had to slow down and wanted to keep the splits in and around 4 mins in 2nd half. Didn’t quite manage it but really pleased with the improvement

Possibly the biggest compliment I can pay is when I first saw the time I swore (do you mind swearing by the way? I didn’t want to use my exact words and offend you, but it was a positive outburst I can ensure you that). It’s always difficult to get that early pace right and to be fair looking at your splits your pace up the hill in the latter stages really didn’t drop off too much. This for me is exciting and showcases what a strong runner you and depending on your own ambitions what is possible going forward. But you should be so pleased with this. I am. Fantastic running Ben.
