The Amble

LOAD: 74

Up to 40km @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Love this. Around 40km from Ditchling Beacon to Hampden Park on the South Downs Way. Well signposted. Depending on where you’re at with your training this is most likely to be a walk/run, especially up some of the hills. If you do struggle just hop on the bus for a leg.

Glad you’ve decided to give this a go. One of my favourites runs from last year and really looking forward to it again.

Wow! What an event. Massively proud that I managed to go the whole distance. Great confidence boost for the ultra. It was tough, but not as tough as I thought it might be. I only struggled around as we were approaching Jevington. My knee and back was hurting – just from the exertion; those steep downhills were killing me. A couple of painkiller and some voltarol got me through the last few miles and I actually felt really good at the end.

It’s brilliant isn’t it. Just so pleased some of the team were able to enjoy the experience. To get the whole distance done is a great boost for your Ultra. We’ve only just gone and run a marathon. We are awesome right? Let’s give ourselves some love this week for what is a pretty special achievement, especially given the elevation.
