LOAD: 70

15 Miles @ Goal Pace (RPE: 4-8)

A tough race with some tricky hills at the end. The main decision here is whether it’s going to be an easy long run or a hard race?

What a lovely place to run. It’s a tough one with the uneven ground underfoot and hills towards the end, so best treated as a long easy run. If you do find you need to walk any of those hills towards the end, don’t see that as a failure in any way. What it is, is race strategy, saving the legs so you can finish strongly. Very best of luck Lou. I hope you have fantastic race.

As you know I’m not a big fan of the LR!! 😬 felt like we pace it well until that absolute whopper of hills at the end. I felt comfortable until mile 10 and had a lovely time with Michelle and Ruth, both brilliant runners. My mind goes about mile 10, which actually was better. My left knee is niggling was fine the whole way until I stopped, wired feeling like it’s wobbling! I’m sure it’s related to my tight hip. Im seeing Kim Brown Wednesday so I’ll see what she says. Ill definitely feel a little achy tomorrow though 😬🫣 Big Thanks for the support, if it wasn’t for you I would not have even entered 👊🏼🙏😁

Really well done Lou. Glad you enjoyed it and lovely to have that company. It’s definitely a really challenging race/route. Definitely listen to what Kim says and hopefully going forward you can find ways to improve both the hip and the knee as that will help your running as well. But a lot to be pleased with here and shows that your endurance is very good.
