10K Race

LOAD: 41

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10km @ 10km Pace (RPE: 6-8)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Pacing is everything when it comes to a 10k race. The first half of the race should feel controlled and then you’ll really have to dig deep as the RPE rises. Try and maintain consistent splits throughout. If the route is undulating be sure to do your homework so you know when the hills are coming and how long they will last.

A little bit jealous of this one. Should be a fantastic day and event to be part of. Very best of luck. I won’t set any targets on this occasion as you might prefer to run with friends, but either way, very best of luck Jodie.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

As you can probably tell by now I absolutely loved this race. The atmosphere was electric, it didn’t feel like 10km! I smiled the whole way round running at a comfortable pace with my phone in hand capturing the wow moments. It was a hot one so I had trialled electrolytes in my drink on Friday ready for the race. Not done this before but wanted to feel good the whole way round and be safe in that heat. I must say between that and fuelling well I felt absolutely fine. This has been a huge step in the right direction for me as prior to being on plan fuelling wasn’t a thing and I felt hideous after the adrenaline rush. My legs propelled me forward without much thought and I felt strong! We must be coming up to around a year on plan now and there’s been a great difference. Not without its challenges in the way (mostly the last few months) but running has changed a lot for me and in a positive way.

Ah love this feedback. Thank you Jodie. So pleased you enjoyed it. I didn’t realise it had been that long, but I appreciate your continued support and it’s great having you on the Team. There will always be ups and downs, but the most important thing is stick with it. I still see huge potential for you but we should never be in a rush to get there. Small steps and enjoy the journey. Which it feels like right now you are doing exactly that.
