Rye to Hastings

LOAD: 65

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

12 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

3 Races in 1. 9km of flat through the nature reserve and tricky Sea Wall. Nothing quicker than half marathon pace through this section. Then comes the climb, take your time and walk where needed. The finish from the top of Barley Lane is great fun, let yourself go and you could be running anywhere between 5-10k pace down the hill.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

🙄 Just a fraction slow

PACE

I ran this very easy. It was such a beautiful day I wanted to enjoy every second. Perhaps I ran this and last week’s. RAC a bit slower than I should have but it felt right at the time and I’ll put more effort in on some other Sunday long runs. Of course I sped up on the downhill Barley Lane section to. The end and enjoyed that. Didn’t stop my watch for quite a few minutes at the end. That was a lovely occasion. So good. To see so many happy healthy smiling faces at the end. Seeing the man with the giant hand encouraging everyone on Pett Level was a highlight too.

😂 I think you ran it right to be honest. We prioritised another fast parkrun over this, so that was important you didn’t push too hard in this race. And sometimes it’s good to hold back, otherwise running just feels hard all the time and shouldn’t be that way. Great work Conal. Pleased I was able to see you all go past after my run.
