16 Miles

LOAD: 69

1 Mile WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

16 Miles @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 5)

1 Mile CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Huge marathon session. But if you can get this done then things are looking good for race day. Marathon training is meant to be hard, so embrace it.

I want to be quite strict here and try and hit 6:50 as close as you can. With so many races coming up, there’s not benefit in going quicker here. If you keep it at that pace, some of this should have a relative feel of comfort to it. Obviously those last 6 miles you’re going to be working very hard, but it’s meant to be tough. Good luck! You got this!

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

👊 Nailed my target

PACE

Had my warm up then a toilet break and set off into the wind. Plans had gone out the window so it was 16 into wind, across stones and the occasional slope upwards. Felt easy for the majority of the run and when it did get hard I checked the pace and was going far too fast so dropped back into pace. I’m actually tempted to have a little easy run Sunday as it’s recovery week next week. Thoughts?

I’m buzzing!! This has made my day. Trying not to swear here. What a run! This should be a huge confidence boost for the day and what lies ahead. Sunday? 60 mins easy at the most, anymore and that would be topping anything anyone has done yet on the team in terms of weekly training pts. No point risking overtraining when everything is going so well. Sensational running Paul!!
