16 x 200 Metres

LOAD: 200

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

200 Metres @ Target Times (RPE: 9)
60 Sec Recovery
x 16

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A real opportunity to work on both speed and good running economy. Train faster to race faster.

This is the session my gang will be doing in the park at 6:15pm. I know that’s tight with work but we do 10 mins easy jog first followed by 10 mins of drills, so if you can get there for 6:25 and do 10 mins easy you’ll still be ready for the session. Alternatively HY would be fine, but I would need to know the specifics of the session afterwards in case I need to tweak the schedule for the week. My lot are lovely by the way and it would give me a chance to offer some feedback on your form.

ENJOYMENT

Enjoyed it once I got going. First couple of reps are always the hardest. Hope it’s ok I ran faster than target pace? I had to slow myself down a bit as usually run these as fast as I can.

So pleased you enjoyed it. Of course it’s fine. Your targets at the moment were a bit of an estimation on my part, so I’ll keep an eye on these sessions and might look to adjust it soon. But it’s good to be controlled and consistent, if you do each rep “all in”, then you up tiring towards the end and slowing down. So it’s a good lesson in pacing. Great work though Lou and thank you for the feedback.
