180 Mins

LOAD: 54

180 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3-6)

Time to make sure your fuelling and hydration is on point. 30-60g of carbs per hour. The longer the run goes on the tougher it will get.

Time on feet, I’m not worried about pace or distance, or if you walk for a bit. But 3 hours on feet will set you up nicely for the Amble in 2 weeks time.

PACE

I was dreading this seems like such a long time so decided to get it done on the Saturday so I didn’t spend all weekend thinking about it. I actually really enjoyed it. I listened to some podcasts. Walked the hills didn’t put any pressure on distance or pace just tried to keep moving. It was mainly trails. The last 30 mins was a struggle as I started to ache and feel like I was seizing up but kept on plodding.

Fantastic work and good idea to get out on Saturday. I love the mindset. Took me years to work out this is how you should approach a trail run so the fact you’re nailing it already is very impressive. Great job Alice! If you get the pace right it’s amazing how long you can keep going for. Nice little confidence boost for The Amble as well.
