20 x 200 Metres

LOAD: 240

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

200 Metres @ Target Times (RPE: 9)
60 Sec Recovery

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A real opportunity to work on both speed and good running economy. Train faster to race faster.

My favourite session. A chance to really ramp up the speed. Keep it consistent though. Definitely not a spring and the target times are generally normally very accurate.

Found this a lot more challenging than I thought I would. 20 reps is a lot! Perhaps slowed a bit but managed to keep it around 40 secs each 200m, even by the end. I think I’d have enjoyed it more if I had a track near. Running is a park does the job but more conscious of dodging dogs and cyclists.

It is tough session. But you hit some great pace. 40 seconds is very good, especially for a first attempt. Yeah finding a quiet place to do these can definitely be beneficial. Great job though Ben, getting that kind of pace in the legs will really help your 5k speed.
